About The Course

Introduction to Pre Hospital Care

These courses run by Basics Ambulance North East (BANE) will have a specific focus on assisting practitioners to be formally signed off to practice independently and also to maintain clinical currency with RSI/intubations etc.

Planned sessions are all open and aimed at senior paramedics and junior docs (F2-ST5 level) and will cover:

  • Ketamine/midazolam sedation in the pre-hospital environment
  • Thoracostomy/chest decompression workshops
  • Airway assist course
  • Haemorrhage control techniques

This course is intended to be an introduction for more junior members in training who may have an interest in prehospital care as a decision aid to undertaking PHEM training, registering with Basics Ambulance North East or attending the GNAAS crew courses.

Working Safely in the Pre-Hospital Environment

This course includes an afternoon of simulation looking at working with other agencies and on the scene of an incident. It is designed for practioners who are new to prehospital care with an interest in this area.

This course is intended to be an introduction for more junior members in training who may have an interest in prehospital care as a decision aid to undertaking PHEM training and the GNAAS crew courses or membership with Basics Ambulance North East.

These will be run in conjunction with NEAS at a North and South region location.
