About The Course

This College of Emergency Medicine accredited course uses high fidelity simulators to recreate clinical scenarios higher specialty trainees may be exposed to in practice.

The scenarios are intentionally designed to reflect the high-pressure environment in which we work on a daily basis, and require candidates to focus not only on the technical skills but to consider their non technical skills, i.e, leadership, communication, teamwork and planning skills.

This course has been developed in line with the areas of the curriculum focused on patient safety and non technical skills.

The one day course will run twice during each academic year and can accommodate up to 6 candidates.

The course is £75 for Higher Specialty Trainees in Emergency Medicine in the North East and Cumbria.

Interested trainees from other specialties may be accepted as observers/role players.

The course is formative with no pass or fail.
