About The Course

This one day training course provides an introduction to using simulation as a educational tool. The role of simulation for teaching non technical skills, a basic outline of human factors and workshops including scenario design, pre brief including “meet the manniquin” and practical sessions in delivery of simulation scenarios. It provides a practical exposure to simulation training methods and equipment for the new educator who is to become involved in simulation training in the health care environment.

By the end of the course you will be aware the rationale for using simulation as an educational approach in Healthcare. You will also be exposed to the operational aspects of simulation and audiovisual recording equipment in our state of the art simulation training facility and you will be able understand the use of a structured approach to simulation scenarios, reflective analysis and facilitating a debrief.

This North East Simulation Network course is hosted by Northumbria University at the Coach Lane Campus.
